Where's Courchevel?
Courchevel is part of the 3 Valleys area – with Val-Thorens, Méribel or even Les Menuires – and is spread over five altitudes, which are as many ways to discover the wealth of its snow-capped peaks and its varied slopes. While the youngest will earn their first star in Courchevel 1650, seasoned skiers will tackle the slopes of Courchevel 1850, whose international reputation is totally deserved.
How was skiing born?
Man began to put on skis 5000 years ago. It is believed that the Norwegians started first - using skis to move across the snowy expanses. From Norway, the practice of skiing spread through Scandinavia and Russia. Skiing became a mode of winter transportation and eventually a sport like cross-country skiing. Alpine skiing is a variant of cross-country skiing.
